The problem SellFi solves
Listing something for sale online is still slow, clunky, and built for desktop-era workflows. On most marketplaces, sellers have to fumble through dozens of fields, upload images manually, and navigate poorly designed forms -> just to post a basic listing.
Hopscotch’s listing agent flips that. It turns the listing process into a fast, friendly conversation -> so anyone can list an item for sale in under 30 seconds, right from their phone. It’s the fastest way to turn a photo into a deal.
Challenges I ran into

Asynchronous, Multi-Step Conversations
-> Users don’t submit listings in one go—they send an image, then add text, then react to confirm. -
Image Upload & Transformation Pipeline
-> You receive image data over XMTP, need to validate it, upload it to two different S3 buckets, and potentially sign it for temporary access. -
AI Text Interpretation with Fallback
-> Users may send vague or inconsistent text. The AI needs to parse price, description, inventory, etc., and the bot must fail gracefully when this breaks.
