Harnessing Idle GPUs for AI: Empower, Share, and Innovate Together
The problem Sealeon solves
Our project aims to create value through the efficient utilization of GPU resources, making AI services more accessible to a wider audience. For that, we designed a platform to provide economic incentives to small-scale AI developers or those who have sufficient GPU resources, compensating individuals for the resources they contribute.
The principle behind our project is simple: individuals with high-spec GPUs, such as developers, gamers, or others, can utilize their idle GPU resources to deploy AI services via the web during their non-usage periods and host these services for others. Those who receive the link can then pay for their usage time with tokens. The process is facilitated through smart contracts, allowing providers and consumers to autonomously engage in contractual agreements based on their individual requirements. Our goal is to enhance the decentralization of the platform, thereby establishing a truly peer-to-peer network.
Developers and gamers can easily run numerous AI web open sources on their computers in just about 10 minutes, upload the link and a brief description to our platform. Conversely, individuals such as designers or those who lack coding skills or high-spec GPUs can simply visit our platform, pay with tokens for the amount they use, and access the services.
In doing so, we efficiently utilize idle GPU resources to create value and make AI services more accessible to a wider audience. Furthermore, we endeavor to establish a framework in which recognition is bestowed upon both the providers of our platform and the AI opensource developers. Our aim is to foster the advancement of the AI opensource community through our contributions.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first time developing Web3 product in NEAR protocol. Though we were familiar with EVM, it was hard for us to get used to developing ecosystem of NEAR Protocol. Most impressing part was where we handled transferring tokens. While approve transaction is necessary in EVM, in NEAR protocol, there is no need for signing addition transaction for approving. Without knowing the details or implementation of NEP141, it took some time to implement transferring NEP141 tokens in smart contract and integrating it into client. Also, as our project is about building p2p platform where participants actively contribute to our platform, it was challenging for us to build and design ecosystem and system that would be attractive for both providers and consumers, which are both important parties for our platform. Futhermore, as we hope to contribute to AI opensource ecosystem, we tried to figure out the way how we can contribute to the ecosystem. Although there were some challenges in our project, we handled them well and improved our product with well-designed system
