With the ever increasing inflation rate and decreasing employment rate, it is quite necessary for people to be able to save as much money as they can while avoiding the hassle of getting into learning about investments and dealing with market risks. Currently saving money involves a lot of factors such as keeping aside a fixed amount of money every month, overcoming the procrastination and finding an investment banker which leads to late investments.
SaveIn steps in for the user to help him save money by the means of micro-investments on every transaction the user makes using any mode of payment, be it cash, card or digital wallets. When the user makes a transaction via SaveIn on products that are sold by brands that would partner with us, a percentage cashback is returned in his account for investments in Government Bonds with a maturity period of the user's choice.
In all a user can earn a good yield from Government Bonds by doing his day-to-day purchases without spending any extra money. This type of model aims to make life easier for students, people with low incomes, etc.
None of use knew android dev, so we basically learned how to build an app from scratch. One of the most tedious parts was duplicating the UI we designed in Sketch, in Android Studio and sending and receiving verifications for the payment. We were able to duplicate part of the UI by working all night over it and created the backend with firebase.
