The problem SalaryAi solves
SalaryAi solves the problem of estimating employee salaries based on key features such as age, gender, education level, job title, and years of experience. In many organizations and job markets, salary transparency is limited, and it’s difficult for individuals to understand what salary they might be offered or deserve. This tool provides a data-driven, ML-powered solution that helps users make informed career and negotiation decisions by predicting salaries with high accuracy using real-world U.S. salary data.
Challenges I ran into
While building SalaryAi, one challenge was cleaning and preprocessing the dataset, especially handling missing values and encoding categorical features like gender and job title correctly.
Another hurdle was implementing and validating the mathematical derivations of the OLS (Ordinary Least Squares) method to ensure accurate salary prediction without using gradient descent. Debugging matrix operations and making sure the predictions matched expected outcomes required thorough testing.
