The problem SaheliConnect solves
In today's world, girls face a multitude of challenges during their menstrual cycles, and often, they hesitate to discuss these issues due to social taboos and privacy concerns. This reluctance to share menstrual problems can lead to significant health issues and impact emotional well-being. Moreover, girls in rural areas often lack proper education about menstruation, compounding the problem.
The stigma and silence surrounding menstruation can result in girls suffering silently, dealing with physical discomfort, and experiencing emotional stress. In some cases, they may even miss out on educational opportunities or social activities due to the lack of awareness and support.
Additionally, the digital age brings its own set of concerns, with the rampant sharing of personal data. Safeguarding women's private information is a growing concern, and women need a secure platform to discuss their menstrual issues and access guidance without fear of privacy breaches.
Challenges we ran into
A significant challenge during app development is the scarcity of timely and comprehensive documentation and resource sharing. This hurdle often leads to delays, as developers struggle to find essential information or collaborate effectively within tight timeframes. It highlights the need for accessible and up-to-date documentation and efficient resource sharing systems.
