By enabling voice input, it ensures accessibility in the field, reducing reliance on manual research or extension services.
Challenges we ran into
Challenge: Inconsistent voice recognition for regional accents in noisy farm environments.
Solution: Switched to Deepgram’s speech-to-text API with noise suppression and fine-tuned it for local languages, improving transcription accuracy.
Challenge: High API latency during peak usage in rural areas with poor connectivity.
Solution: Implemented request batching and cached common responses locally, leveraging Groq’s fast inference to minimize delays.
These optimizations enhanced usability and reliability for farmers.
