ResQConnect is a pioneering platform combatting food waste by connecting food banks, restaurants, businesses, and individuals. It stands out with its efficient donation and redistribution process, benefiting communities facing food insecurity. Leveraging technology, it offers real-time tracking and educates users on waste reduction. By fostering community engagement, ResQConnect promotes collaboration against food waste. In essence, it's not just a platform but a movement toward sustainable, compassionate food management.
Challenges we ran into
It was tough to build the connection between the food contributers and the food banks. As initially the food banks would'nt know it any food was contributed we over came it by differentiating the sign in option as either sign in as food bank representative or a user. In this way the food banks would receive a notification if any food is contributed.
