- Lack of Transparency: Existing platforms may not offer clear and verifiable records of item condition, rental agreements, or user reviews, leading to potential misunderstandings and conflicts.
- Inefficient Processes: The current rental process can be cumbersome, with manual checks, negotiations, and the need for intermediaries adding complexity and cost.

Blockchain-Powered Security: By utilizing blockchain technology, all transactions, inspections, and reviews are stored immutably, ensuring transparency and preventing tampering. This significantly reduces the risk of fraud and enhances trust between users.

Challenges I ran into

Integrating zkProofs with Blockchain:
- Challenge: One of the biggest hurdles was integrating zkProofs with the existing blockchain infrastructure. Ensuring that the zero-knowledge proofs were efficiently verified on-chain without compromising performance was particularly challenging.
- Solution: To overcome this, I explored various zkVMs, such as Plonky3, to find one that provided the right balance between proof generation speed and security. Extensive testing and optimization were necessary to achieve the desired performance, especially when dealing with complex computations.

AI Inspection System Implementation:
- Challenge: Developing the AI-driven inspection system that could reliably detect defects and damages in rental items using AR technology was another major challenge. The system needed to be accurate and fast while working seamlessly across different devices.
- Solution: I iterated on multiple machine learning models and AR frameworks, testing them in real-world scenarios. Collaborating with experts in AI and AR technology helped refine the system's accuracy. Regular updates and user feedback loops were crucial in improving the system’s performance.

Smart Contract Complexity:
- Challenge: Designing and deploying smart contracts to manage rental agreements, collateral staking, and revenue-sharing without introducing vulnerabilities or excessive gas fees was complex.
- Solution: By breaking down the functionality into smaller, modular smart contracts, I was able to simplify the code and improve security. Thorough testing on testnets and audits from experienced developers were also key to ensuring the contracts performed as expected.
