ReMed

A decentralized permission based EMR management system for healthcare providers and patients. Additionally, researchers also can purchase anonymized healthcare records, with patients earning tokens.

The problem ReMed solves

  1. Enhanced Data Security
Centralized EMR systems are vulnerable to breaches and unauthorized access. Our platform leverages blockchain technology to create a tamper-proof, decentralized ledger of medical records. This ensures that patient data is securely stored and immutable, greatly reducing the risk of data breaches and unauthorized alterations.

  2. Improved Privacy Control
Patients have limited control over their data in traditional systems. With our solution, patients retain complete control over who can access their records through a permission-based model managed by smart contracts. This empowers patients to grant or revoke access as they see fit, safeguarding their privacy and enhancing their sense of security.

  3. Seamless Interoperability
Interoperability between different healthcare providers is often a challenge with conventional EMR systems. Our decentralized system enables seamless data sharing across different platforms and institutions. This ensures that patient information is easily accessible to authorized providers, improving care coordination and reducing the chances of redundant tests and misdiagnoses.

  4. Streamlined Data Access for Researchers
Researchers face hurdles accessing anonymized, high-quality data due to privacy concerns and fragmented systems. Our platform provides a secure way for researchers to access de-identified EMRs, facilitating valuable medical research and accelerating advancements in healthcare without compromising patient privacy.

  5. Incentivized Data Sharing
Patients can earn tokens by allowing researchers to access their data, creating a new economic model for data sharing. This incentivizes patients to contribute to research while maintaining control over their information, benefiting both the research community and the individuals providing the data.

Challenges we ran into

Learning new blockchain such as Aptos, which took quite a while to understand the syntaxes that needs to be used. A lot of research and teamwork helped speed up the process of learning Aptos.
