The problem RateYourProsser solves

Provide instant feedbck from the students to the professor at the end of every lecture, cumulate all the entries, and provide the average rating of the class and all the feedbacks to the professor to decrease the student-professor communication gap. The general system of students rating classes once every month, three month or a semester is not effective. It provides for regular assesment of the classes so as to fix the problems at an early stage and prevent further problems.

RateMyProsser works by:

  1. Sending a push notification at the end of every lecture to every student's(who has downloaded the app) devices.

  2. Ask student to rate the class in the range of one to five stars.

  3. Provide additional feedback in words in the "Add a note" section with their name or else prefer to remain anynomous, whatever is feasible for them.

The push notification feature provides for optimizing the conversion ratio between students receiving feedback notification to the students who actually provide the feedback which will help us to draw more accurate conclusions due to a larger data pool.

The app prototype has no revenue model as of now, we can introduce organisational subscriptions later like TCS iON Digital Campus.

The particular organisation will be provided the authentication system as per as their needs.

Challenges we ran into

We wanted to build this project on a digital ledger blockchain using the Hedera test network but we were not able to do that in 48 hours due to our lack of experience with the technology.

Building this project on blockchain would have had certain advantages as the data would never be stored at a single place, but rather exists on the “chain” supported by millions of nodes simultaneously. Thanks to encryption and decentralization, blockchain’s database of transactions is incorruptible, and each record is easily verifiable so the network would not ever have the chance to be taken down or influenced by a single party because it doesn’t exist in one place.

This would have made the entries immutable and easily verifiable.
