The problem Qtrack solves
Qtrack is a smart queue management system that eliminates the need to stand in long physical lines. It allows users to:
Book tokens online for various services using their name and phone number. Track their real-time queue position and receive live updates on their turn. Get notified via SMS when their token is about to be served, skipped, or completed.
For service providers/admins, Qtrack offers an easy-to-use dashboard to manage queues, categorize services, and communicate with users effectively.
This system enhances the customer experience, improves service efficiency, and reduces crowding in physical spaces.
Challenges we ran into
While building Qtrack, one of the major challenges was integrating the SMS API for real-time notifications. Initially, we faced issues with delays and API rate limits when using Twilio. After debugging the backend logic, we optimized our SMS trigger conditions and reduced redundant requests, making the system more reliable.
Another hurdle was managing multiple queue categories (like General and Priority) without mixing up token orders. We overcame this by implementing a modular queue structure in MongoDB, allowing separate tracking and management for each category.
