We love Web3 as devs, but when it came to organizing organic community discussion or introducing our friends to the ecosystem, we had to rely on discord, telegram, and other centralized platforms that was filled with grifts, spam, and scams. We realized something needed to change, the way we organize our communities and events heavily relys on outdated software that only has exploitation in mind.
That's why we created Public.Sqare, instead of using discord or telegram, we have a new and innovative way to scale and build communities through our onchain forum.
Public.Square is a new, innovative forum designed with all of the benefits of Onchain technology just for you, and your community in mind. Anyone can create a clean and sophisticated digital billboard that represents your brand, and that's designed to protect, curate, and organize your community's important social data.
Public.Square utilizes XMTP messaging in the chatbox for onchain privacy. While also allowing users to add addition AI Agent plug-ins, which feature things such as; Welcome bots, & Onchain Faucets. Public.Square's Web3 Forum, also enables communities to token-gating threads based on NFT or Crypto Token. Enabling sophisticated communities, more fluidity in their design.
We knew our designs had to solve a critical issue aligning with XMTP's core values. For too long, discord and telegram have plagued users with spam, scams, and centralized exploitation. We had to empathize with the users; friends of ours who we've onboarded but have churned because of scattered discords, spams, and telegrams full of crypto bots sheisty DMs.
The XMTP group chat itself lacks a global chatroom, which was needed in our design to showcase the AI Agents to all users. In conclusion, the only way to bypass this was to send an invitation to everyone who joins. Creating a global chatroom.
We also ran into a qualitative one which is "What if nobody cares?" We had to ask ourselves if we were solving a real problem and not just building something. We found out that this makes onboarding to specific communities much more easier than relying on Farcaster/Opensea/Discord/Telegram as a first stop. Making the user journey of a normie being onboarded faster, and connecting them to more events, while also allowing simply token gates instead of discord's complex "everything app" that encompasses a lot of technical know-hows.
Cheering for a project means supporting a project you like with as little as 0.0025 ETH. Right now, you can Cheer using ETH on Arbitrum, Optimism and Base.
