We identified some challenges people face in our community with payments,banking, understanding crypto ... and the best way to solve this is by hosting an IRL event in a university campus in ikwo Ebonyi state Nigeria, where we used Base to onboard over 40 people onchain .

The challenge we focused on mainly was payment and banking challenges - we solved this by practically showing our community people how to send and receive crypto seamlessly with coinbase wallet, Usdc on base with moai cash via telegram and we setup a retail store front that accepts crypto on the university campus now, students are alredy buying and paying for items with usdc on base,Eth ..

We sucessfully brought one of the top retail stores on the university campus onchain, and students do not have to worry about poor banking challenges and high fees with fintech apps, they now buy and pay for items with no fees using coinbase wallet, video proof attached to suvmission.

The onboarding process was not so easy because our reach was not just students but also workers and people living in the university community, and most of them are newbies to onchain terms and apps, but we communicated base with our local language and got the impact and onboarding rolling.
