The challenge of time-consuming and resource-intensive CAD modeling is addressed by PromptSculpt AI, which empowers users of all backgrounds to create AI-driven, efficient, and customizable CAD models in Fusion 360.
Many people have access to 3D printers but have to spend a lot of time learning to do CAD, and tweaking their CAD model as per their needs. PromptSculpt AI's unique innovation lies in its ability to harness the power of artificial intelligence to generate intricate 3D designs from simple prompts, democratizing CAD model generation and making it accessible to a broader audience.
It creates a revolution in the CAD modeling, prototyping, and manufacturing industry by drastically reducing the design and revision time just like what the revolution of AI-generated software had brought with the advancements in AI led by OpenAI.
Note: 3D model-generating AI tools like spline.ai use Point Cloud Computation/Processing to generate 3D models but they cannot be considered engineering models.

The problem comes under Challenge 3: Productivity & Automation
Create AI-driven solutions to optimize processes, automate assignments, improve communication, simplify data retrieval, and increase efficiency in a wide range of sectors and industries.
The main hurdle we faced while building this project was that GPT even with internet access was unable to fully comprehend the Fusion 360 API as it is very complex. Even scripts of simple models like a cube had two errors that needed to be fixed before running. Hence near the end of the hackathon, we concluded that we needed to use an AI Agent to go deep into Fusion 360 API docs on the website to be able to generate error-free Fusion 360 scripts that can generate the CAD models.
