Haritha Karma Sena workers struggle to track households, plan collection routes, and monitor waste segregation due to the lack of a centralized digital system. Residents are often unaware of collection schedules and cannot easily request waste pickup, leading to missed collections and inefficient waste management.

Challenges we ran into
Challenges Faced
We faced challenges in establishing stable MySQL connections, managing database relationships, and ensuring proper waste-segregation logic within the system. Additionally, handling user notifications and maintaining data consistency across the Flask backend and database required careful coordination.
We resolved these challenges by properly configuring the MySQL server and access permissions, designing a well-structured database schema, and using Flask’s backend logic to validate and manage waste segregation rules. Regular testing and incremental integration helped ensure reliable communication between the frontend, backend, and database.
