The problem Pramaan solves
The Gig Economy's "Invisible" Credit Problem
Millions of gig workers (freelancers, Uber drivers, delivery partners) are locked out of traditional financial systems. Because they lack standard corporate salary slips or established credit histories, lenders view them as "high risk."
To prove their creditworthiness today, workers are forced to hand over highly sensitive, raw bank statements and personal IDs. This leads to massive data privacy risks, identity theft vulnerabilities, and heavy human bias in loan approvals.
How Pramaan Solves This
Pramaan is a privacy-first Web3 credit passport. We transform gig workers' off-chain reputations into verifiable, on-chain credit scores without ever exposing their underlying personal data.
What people can use it for:
Gig Workers: Can mint a portable "Gig Score" by cryptographically proving their identity and their income history.
DeFi & TradFi Lenders: Can instantly verify a worker's creditworthiness and disburse loans without doing manual, biased background checks.
How it makes existing tasks easier, safer, and completely trustless:
100% Privacy-Preserving (Zero-Knowledge): Workers prove their identity (via Anon Aadhaar) and income (via Reclaim Protocol) without revealing their actual Aadhaar number, name, or raw bank transaction history.
Eradicating Human Bias: Credit analysis is performed by a Local Autonomous AI Agent (OpenClaw + Llama 3). The AI audits the ZK-proofs deterministically, ensuring loan recommendations are based purely on math and on-chain facts.
Machine-to-Machine API Economy (x402): Lenders don't need expensive monthly Web2 SaaS subscriptions to access credit bureaus. Using the x402 Micropayment Protocol, the Lender's application autonomously pays a 0.05 USDC micro-fee per request. The protocol instantly settles the payment on Base Sepolia and unlocks the AI credit analysis in real-time.
Decentralized Data Portability: Heavy metadata and detailed proof contexts are packed into user-owned dDocs and stored on Fileverse, rather than bloating the EVM, giving workers total sovereign control over their credit data.
Challenges I ran into
Building Pramaan was a massive architectural challenge because it required stitching together several cutting-edge Web3 protocols into a single, seamless user experience.
-
Taming Zero-Knowledge Proofs & Gas Limits
Integrating both Anon Aadhaar (for identity) and Reclaim Protocol (for income verification) meant dealing with complex cryptographic payloads. One of our biggest hurdles was managing the sheer size of the ZK-proofs and ensuring they could be verified on-chain without the transactions failing. At one point, our proof submissions triggered a massive 21,000,000 gas limit error! We had to carefully debug our smart contract require statements, manage our nullifiers for replay protection, and refine our gas estimations to get the transactions to flow smoothly on Sepolia. -
The Multi-Protocol Integration Puzzle
We weren't just building a simple dApp; we were building a multi-layered pipeline. We had to get Fileverse to instantly store our proof metadata as encrypted dDocs, while Base Sepolia handled the core smart contract logic. The absolute biggest roadblock hit when we tried to integrate the OpenClaw AI Agent—the official NPM registry for the core packages was throwing 404 errors. Instead of giving up, we reverse-engineered the x402 protocol and built our own autonomous payment interceptor from scratch using viem, Node.js, and a local Ollama LLM. -
The Power of the Hacker Community
When you are trying to make disparate Web3 technologies talk to each other at 4:00 AM, documentation only gets you so far. These critical blockers were overcome thanks to the incredible, hands-on support from the sponsor engineers, mentors, and the collaborative energy of the ETH Mumbai community. Whether it was identifying a misconfigured RPC node or figuring out the proper data formatting for a specific protocol, the guidance we received was the exact push we needed to cross the finish line with a fully functional product.
