Our project, Pramaan, aims to resolve identity verification and secure account linking issues that hinder wallet services. Current systems often expose users' sensitive data and lack flexibility, resulting in security risks and inefficient operations. Pramaan, with its unique approach to identity verification, solves these problems.

How Praman solves the problem
Pramaan maps biometric information to a unique identifier (UID), ensuring secure account-linking. The underlying technology is cryptographic techniques and zero-knowledge proofs that authenticate users without revealing their biometric information, thus preserving user privacy and enhancing security. The system also boasts an open API for seamless integration with different wallet infrastructures and handles various types of biometric data.

Existing System
Existing solutions store users' identities in centralized databases, often posing security threats and privacy issues. They also lack adaptability, which Pramaan successfully tackles. By utilizing smart contracts on the Flow blockchain, Pramaan offers an added layer of security and ensures verifiable transparency, making the system more trustworthy.

Challenges we ran into

Integration Difficulties: Our primary challenge was the inability to integrate our solution with existing wallet infrastructures. This setback was mainly due to differences in existing wallet systems' design principles and our solution, which often made it difficult to establish a seamless connection. Lack of detailed documentation and inadequate developer support from these wallet services also contributed to this challenge.

Scalability Issues: The project's scalability was another significant concern. While our solution works well for small-scale applications, scaling it up to handle large volumes of users presented performance and speed challenges.

Resource Limitations: We encountered limitations with the computational resources required to perform complex cryptographic operations and zero-knowledge proofs efficiently. This led to increased time and processing power for identity verification.

Lack of Standardized Biometric Data: The absence of a standard format for biometric data across different platforms posed difficulties in creating a universal identity verification solution.

Privacy Concerns: Devising a solution that maintains a high level of security while ensuring user privacy was a substantial challenge due to the sensitivity of biometric data.

Technical Complexity: The advanced cryptographic techniques and zero-knowledge proofs involved in the project required a deep understanding of complex mathematical and computer science concepts. This complexity presented a learning curve for our team.

Despite these hurdles, we are confident in the robustness and potential of Pramaan and believe it offers a valuable contribution to the blockchain ecosystem and wallet enablement. We are continuously working to overcome these challenges and enhance our solution's effectiveness and usability.
