The problem Power Funding solves
Power Funding addresses several key issues that innovators face when trying to bring resource-intensive projects to life:
- Lack of Computational Power: Many creators, developers, and innovators have great ideas but lack the necessary computational power or budget to execute them.
- High Infrastructure Costs: Running large-scale computations for AI models, blockchain, scientific research, and other data-heavy projects requires significant infrastructure, which is often cost-prohibitive for small teams or individuals.

- We plan to add a feature where creators can gather the addresses of all users who supported their project.
- This feature will enable creators to send airdrops or rewards to Golem holders as a token of appreciation for their contributions, fostering stronger community engagement.
Challenges we ran into
One of the main challenges we faced was with the current implementation of the LockPayment contract. The current version has a bottleneck that prevents computational power from multiple Golem holders being combined to run a single large job. This limitation means that, while individual donations of power work, we couldn’t aggregate them to scale up for more resource-intensive tasks. Unfortunately, due to time constraints, we weren’t able to rewrite the contracts. A small contract rewrite will be necessary to make this feature fully functional and bring our idea to its full potential.
Additionally, we finalized the idea a bit later in the development process, which left us without enough time to build out all the dashboards and stats we envisioned. Specifically, we wanted to create a comprehensive donor and creator dashboard, with real-time statistics showing the amount of power donated, project progress, and overall impact. These features will be crucial for providing transparency and engagement between project creators and power donors in future versions.
