Why are you participating for Based LatAm?

Base is the protocol with the most diversity and capabilities for the dapp we are developing. We are currently moving all our functionalities to Base, and when we saw that they launched the hackathon we did not hesitate to apply.

Thanks to Base's capabilities and our years of experience in the Podcasting industry we will be able to impact more than 20 million podcasts in Latin America and 50 million podcasts around the world.

The problem we are solving with Podit is a pain that we ourselves have lived for 4 years until we met Web 3 and decided to start building our application that tokenizes each Podcast episode, improves the experience of the Podcasters' community and allows them to monetize their programs from day 1.

What challenges are you focusing on?

1. The lack of monetization in 97% of current Podcast.
2. The waiting time for a Podcast to start monetizing (1.5 years).
3. Tokenize each Podcast episode only with their RSS link.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Podit is able to tokenize any Podcast episode, just with an RSS link, which Podcasters can sell to their community with a minimum price of $1.

Additionally, the Podcaster will earn $Podit (our token) every time their episode is played within our app, and also from advertising (in the medium term).

The audience that buys an episode of their favorite Podcast will also earn every time an episode is played within our app.

Challenges I ran into

We had a big problem finding the import stream of episodes from each Podcaster in Podit.

This would generate a lot of fixed storage costs and would be a problem for Podcasters who do not have their original files.

In the end, we developed an import through the RSS link of each Podcast. That would bring us all the programs, the information of each episode AND SAVED US ALL THE FIXED STORAGE COSTS.
Since we were able to solve that problem, we have focused on making the entire Podit UX 100% intuitive. We consider ourselves more of a 2.5 app than a web 3 app.

Now, our main technical focus is on wallet integration and the launch of our token.

And our main non-technical picture is on the development of our community and alpha launch of our ambassador program.

Additional Features

We want to develop integrations with wallets, social functionalities (sharing, videos, DM, etc.), transactionability of our token (which will be in Base) to fiat.
