Powering Eco-Friendly Campaigns

Why are you participating for Based Africa?

We are participating in the Based Africa hackathon to build a project that gives visibility to companies promoting climate awareness campaigns. Our goal is to create a platform where people can easily join these campaigns and potentially receive rewards for their participation. This not only promotes environmental responsibility but also encourages wider community engagement in sustainability efforts.

What challenges are you focusing on?

We are focusing on the challenges of visibility and engagement in climate awareness campaigns. Many companies working on sustainability initiatives struggle to gain the attention they need, and it's often difficult for individuals to discover and actively participate in these efforts. Our goal is to create a platform that bridges this gap, making it easier for people to find, join, and contribute to climate campaigns, while potentially earning rewards for their involvement. This encourages both corporate responsibility and wider community participation in environmental causes.

How does your submission address this challenge?

Our submission addresses this challenge by creating a platform that connects companies seeking visibility and engagement for their climate campaigns with individuals looking to get involved—whether for rewards or simply for the cause. Companies can create an organization and launch multiple campaigns under it, which will then appear in a list for users to explore and join. This approach ensures greater visibility for companies and offers users an easy way to participate in meaningful climate initiatives.

Challenges I ran into

Technical challenges of finding a way to lock rewards into each campaign and get a metric to dispense each.
