Challenges I ran into

challenges I Ran Into
Data Privacy Compliance: Ensuring HIPAA/GDPR Adherence
Challenge: Handling sensitive patient information while adhering to HIPAA/GDPR compliance was a key concern. The challenge lay in implementing secure data transmission and access protocols to protect patient data.
Solution: I integrated JWT (JSON Web Tokens) for secure authentication and enforced role-based access control (RBAC) to limit data access based on user roles. Additionally, I ensured data encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest within the database.

Training Users: Simple Onboarding for Staff and Patients
Challenge: Doctors and pharmacy staff found the app initially overwhelming, especially with multiple dashboards and new processes. A smooth onboarding process was essential for adoption.
Solution: I incorporated IoT device integration, allowing patients to punch their health cards at the hospital, which would automatically update the doctor’s dashboard with relevant patient information. This reduced manual data entry for doctors and made it easier for staff to manage patient data efficiently.

Pharmacy Overload Management: Batch Processing During Peak Hours
Challenge: During busy hours, pharmacists struggled to manage large volumes of orders simultaneously, resulting in delays and inefficiencies.
Solution: I implemented a batch processing system that grouped similar orders and allowed pharmacists to prepare multiple prescriptions simultaneously. Additionally, I integrated a priority-based queue system, where urgent prescriptions were highlighted for faster processing. This helped maintain workflow efficiency, even during peak hours.
