The problem PhalTU solves

We all know how challenging hostel life can be and the biggest of these is maintaining our health and getting proper nutrition. With the fast-paced college life and jam-packed schedules consisting of lectures, labs and societies. It becomes increasingly difficult to find the time to buy fruits .Even for the ones who do, it’s not easy to eat them fresh at the right time . As a result, Students miss out on vital vitamins and minerals that fruits provide.

Another issue that new hostellers face is management of expenses. More often than not they exceed their monthly budget and are not able to keep track. Most of them are willing to do side jobs but it’s impossible to do anything within campus for the same
To Solve all these problems at one-go, We’d like to introduce PhalTu
PhalTU is a mobile app that lets students order fruits in just a few clicks and delivers it to their hostels according to their slot preference- morning or evening. PhalTU does this by partnering with outside vendors who will provide the stock at the required time . Then the stock will be divided according to hostels and student partners who sign up for delivery and will take them to the mentioned hostel.
The app will charge a small fee per order for this service, a part of which will be given to the deliverers.
Further, cashifiable points will be given on every order to the customers to ensure their retention.
The app will be built using Flutter and the fruit prices will be updated weekly according to market rates.

Challenges we ran into

Since, We are new to app development and this app is a big project, we ran into quite a few probelms. We put all the widgets and cards in a container on the Home Page. As a result of this, We could not redirect to another page when clicked. We came over this hurdle by creating a button on top of the container and that worked fine.
