Stay closer to Home, While you are away

The problem PG Hunt solves

Moving to a new city can be daunting. Whether you are a student studying far away from your hometown or a working professional earning money for your family, finding suitable accommodation according to your needs and budget is a hectic task. Finding a good-paying guest near your workplace or study place in Indian metropolitan cities is a daunting task. The main reason being, most cities are already well-populated, and with limited space for development left, houses are few and far between middle-class migrant workers and students. The rise of Paying-Guest (PG) services helped bridge this gap. But most of these PGs are difficult to find, as many of them tend to be located deep into the neighborhoods, for the sake of cost reduction. One option is to google for PGs nearby and walk up to them. This is extremely inconvenient as many details are often not mentioned in a Google maps description. One of the most recurring cases is when the prospective tenant has to walk up to the PG even for the smallest of details. There are other services that have changed this situation for a house hunting scenario, the process of a PG hunting scenario involves a lot more variables, thus needing a specialized service. This is what inspired us to help those who are moving to a new place for studies or employment. It will focus on identifying needs and then locating an apartment that will fit those needs.

Challenges we ran into

The most challenging part was deciding and brainstorming the topic itself as the problem statements were revealed only at the start of the Hackathon. Each group member presented two topics and we finalized one after the discussion.

It was difficult to comeup with a good wireframe and at the same time a working model of the website.

Also it was difficult to manage the people around the work. We did a lot of brainstorming over google meet and discords. We split up our works and collaborated using github. It was a overall a good outcome after this situation.
