While building PetGuard, we encountered several key challenges. Designing a user interface that works for all age groups while supporting diverse features like adoption, donations, emergency care, and rescue assistance was our first hurdle. We tackled this by keeping the UI clean, minimal, and intuitive—testing multiple layouts to ensure ease of use.

We also faced difficulty integrating real-time vet clinic locators using the Google Maps API, as the data available was often inconsistent or incomplete. To resolve this within our timeline, we opted for a static list of verified clinics and plan to enhance this with dynamic APIs or local partnerships in the future.

Another major concern was user data privacy. We wanted to ensure users could help animals or adopt pets without the fear of spam or promotional misuse. To achieve this, we eliminated the need for logins or emails. Instead, we used lightweight, anonymous forms—reducing drop-offs and encouraging more engagement.

Each challenge pushed us to simplify, innovate, and build a platform that truly puts user trust and pet welfare first.
