Revolutionizing Student Networking and Collaboration
The problem PeerPulse solves
PeerPulse provides a dedicated space for college students to connect, share experiences, and build meaningful relationships within their academic communities. Students can easily disseminate information, share resources, and collaborate on projects through posts, polls, and discussions on PeerPulse.
Challenges we ran into
One of the significant challenges we encountered during the development of PeerPulse was determining the most effective method for resolving disputes within the web3 freelance platform. Deciding on a fair and transparent process that could address conflicts between freelancers and gig owners presented a complex problem.
Initially, we explored various dispute resolution mechanisms, including centralized arbitration, community voting, and decentralized autonomous organizations (DAOs). Each approach had its advantages and drawbacks, such as potential biases in centralized arbitration, scalability issues with community voting, and the complexity of implementing a DAO. To overcome this challenge, we conducted extensive research, consulted industry experts, and engaged in thorough discussions within our development team. Ultimately, we adopted a hybrid approach that combines elements of centralized arbitration with decentralized community oversight.
Under this framework, disputes are initially addressed by appointed arbitrators who evaluate evidence and make impartial decisions based on predefined criteria. However, to ensure transparency and accountability, these arbitration decisions are subject to review by a decentralized community of platform users.
