Problem : A world which is digitising at a rapid rate, no sphere cannot be left untouched, let it be a firm operating at large scale or small-scale blooming industry. Along with the positives of the same, there have been some major drawbacks as well, the most notable one being how to adapt to such change. The example of the same is the hardships faced by the small-scale retailers and shopkeepers. In order to create an easy environment for the customers and clients, where there are various payment methods, these retailers working at the bottom level have to keep their access to nearly every option to accept payments. Making account at various platforms like Paypal, Google Pay or PhonePe; installing relatively expensive POS machines in order to accept payments from cards, which is itself a cumbersome task because of the toil of credit management and documentation work it requires . The need of the hour is to innovate a healthy and poised environment which can help them to adapt to the new world easily without any stifling.
Our Solution : Our team created an idea and also gave life to it in the form of a website with the name PayFast. This Web App paves an easy way for this group to deal with digital and online transactions. One can easily register himself/herself with social media accounts and start accepting digital payments
The major USP of the software is the Invoice system, which along with the status of bill being Paid/Unpaid, includes even the basic details such as name of the shop with the GST number and the Product ID, ensuring no mischief happens with the customers as well. The Invoice is easy to create, where one is supposed only to provide the minimal information. The design of the Invoice was put on special emphasis by the developers which will be easy to read and interpret.
Scope of Improvement : Because of the “DLT” approval issue we were not able to integrate SMS API . Make our own payment interface ( would require heavy Legal Documentation )
The main difficulty was to think of how small retailers work and what are their “very basic” requirements so that we can make our solution as clutter free as possible. We brainstormed on this for hours , even talked to 2 local shops and then came up with the facilities they actually need and are willing to adopt if they get a trustworthy solution which is also easy to use and manage on their own
