The problem Pay3 solves

Our application addresses a significant barrier in cryptocurrency adoption: the complexity of sending crypto to non-technical users. While traditional digital payment systems like PayPay offer seamless money transfers, cryptocurrency transfers have remained cumbersome, requiring recipients to have pre-existing wallets and technical knowledge.

Our solution transforms this experience by:

• Enabling asynchronous crypto transfers to anyone, even if they don't currently have a wallet
• Simplifying the user experience to match familiar digital payment apps like PayPay
• Eliminating technical barriers through Smart Wallet integration
• Expanding the reach of crypto transfers across all social media platforms via shareable links and QR codes

Users can now send cryptocurrency with just a few clicks:

1. Set the crypto type and amount
2. Connect their Smart Wallet
3. Generate a claim link and QR code
4. Share these through any communication channel

Recipients simply access the link, land on a claim page, connect their Smart Wallet (or easily create one if they don't have one), and receive the funds instantly.

This approach effectively bridges the gap between traditional digital payments and cryptocurrency transfers, providing a web2-like user experience for web3 transactions that anyone can understand.

Challenges I ran into

Link Generation and Management

Creating secure, time-limited links that could store transfer information without exposing private keys or creating security vulnerabilities required careful architecture.

Solution: We implemented a system that generates cryptographically secure links where the funds remain in the sender's wallet until claimed, with additional security layers to prevent unauthorized access.

User Experience Consistency

Maintaining a consistent, familiar UX similar to PayPay while handling the inherent complexities of blockchain transactions was particularly challenging.

Solution: We extensively user-tested our interface to ensure that the crypto-specific elements were presented in familiar ways. We abstracted blockchain terminology into everyday language and used familiar UI patterns from popular payment apps.

Cross-Platform Compatibility

Ensuring that generated links and QR codes would work properly across all social media platforms presented numerous technical hurdles, as each platform handles links differently.

Solution: We developed a unified link format compatible with all major platforms and implemented fallback mechanisms to handle various edge cases in how different social media platforms process shared links.

Gas Fee Management

Making the gas fee process transparent and understandable for users accustomed to fee-free transfers in apps like PayPay required thoughtful design.

Solution: We implemented gas fee abstraction layer using paymaser, making the entire process feel more like a traditional digital payment from the recipient's perspective.

Through solving these challenges, we've created a truly web2-like experience for web3 transfers—breaking down one of the most significant barriers to cryptocurrency adoption while maintaining the core benefits of crypto.
