The problem PAWN STARS solves

• There is no real-world incentive in gaming especially a skillful challenging one like chess. PAWN WARS provides the best platform for these experiences.
• Chess is a community game and hence best played with a rewarding community, we hope to soon integrate $GAMBIT our custom token to fund GAMBIT DAO and onboard stakeholders that can take the community forward
• There is no real-world incentive for buying in-game items or any opportunity to create the best items for creators. Pawn wars give the opportunity to collect in-game items to create a unique experience in the form of NFTs and also gives Chess Community creators the option to incentive their creativity.

Challenges we ran into

• Diving into blockchain was intimidating, solidity has a high learning curve.
• Building a mobile-first web3 app was hard because of a lack of tooling for connecting and integrating with wallet.
• We started out short on time which made it very hard and challenging to integrate many features and build a functional app.
• Building a chess gaming app with a betting feature using web3 was demanding because of the complex logic.
• integrating multiple 3rd party services like stackOS, Filecoin and Matic was the trickiest part.
• We had very little blockchain knowledge and had not worked with sockets before so was a challenging learning experience.
