The problem PatNSwap solves

Our project aims to solve the problem of selling and buying patents. We are submitting it for both the Ideate and Design tracks.
There is no platform at present to buy and sell one's patents or view someone else's research papers in one place. The owner and the seller need to know about each other beforehand to make a successful deal.
Our platform provides an interface for easy business between both parties and makes transactions using digital wallets. It also allows users to sell a part of their patent or NFT.

We also aim to reward the users with a digital NFT that is unique to them for every patent or research paper published. This verifies their publication and gives it authenticity.

We aim to provide a common platform for all inventions and research using new technology that includes blockchain and smart contracts, and we encourage users to push their limits and work harder.

In the world of research and development, it is difficult to keep pace with the new inventions taking place globally and find the correct checkpoints to begin your own.

Our website has an "Explore" page where people can check out the patents filed by people all over the world, and supports communities for overall development.

Challenges we ran into

We faced several difficulties in the process of integrating Web3 products into it. One of the main challenges was how to verify the claims made by users regarding the patents and research papers they were filing. This required extensive brainstorming and finding a solution that would effectively verify the claims.

The team also had to create a smart contract for the verification process, which was time-consuming. Another challenge was linking the wallet with the website, which was a new experience for the team.

Despite these challenges, the team wanted to implement additional features such as a wishlist and a shopping cart, but the limited time available did not allow them to do so.
