Bridging traditional finance and DeFi with secure, transparent on-ramps and off-ramps for seamless currency conversion through pacificUSD stablecoin
The problem PacificRamp solves
The problem it solves
PacificRamp solves two critical problems in the crypto ecosystem:
Disconnected Financial Systems: There's a significant gap between traditional finance (Web2) and decentralized finance (Web3). PacificRamp bridges this divide with a seamless cross-chain on/off-ramp that allows users to easily convert between fiat and crypto without technical knowledge.
Suboptimal Conversion Rates: Users typically receive unfavorable rates when converting between fiat and crypto due to hidden spreads and lack of price transparency. Our Reactive Network continuously monitors prices across multiple blockchains to automatically find and execute conversions at the best available rates.
With PacificRamp, users can:
Set price-based triggers that automatically execute when target conditions are met
Benefit from cross-chain price advantages without technical expertise
Access decentralized finance with optimal conversion rates
Move between fiat and digital assets with confidence, knowing they're always getting the best price available across supported blockchains
Our solution democratizes access to efficient crypto-fiat conversions while ensuring users maximize value in every transaction through automated cross-chain optimization.Coba lagi
User Interaction and Data Flow
Users interact with PacificRamp through a simple and intuitive interface:
-
Connecting a Wallet: Users start by connecting their Web3 wallet (MetaMask, WalletConnect, etc.) to access the PacificRamp dashboard.
-
Setting Up Conversion Preferences:
Users select whether they want to convert fiat to crypto (onramp) or crypto to fiat (offramp)
They specify the amount they wish to convert
They can choose between immediate conversion or setting up price triggers -
Creating Price Triggers:
Users can set target prices for conversions
They can enable cross-chain advantage detection, specifying a minimum percentage advantage
Triggers can be configured as one-time or recurring -
Monitoring Conversions:
The dashboard displays current prices across all supported chains
Users can view active triggers and their status
Real-time alerts notify users of significant cross-chain price advantages
Conversion history shows completed transactions and the savings achieved -
Data Flow:
The Reactive Network continuously monitors prices across chains
When a user creates a trigger, it's stored in the smart contract
Price updates from various chains are processed to check against active triggers
When conditions are met, the callback contract executes the conversion on the optimal chain
The user receives their converted assets directly in their wallet or connected bank account
The project architecture and development process
The project architecture and development process
PacificRamp's architecture consists of five key components:
-
Reactive Network System
- Smart contract that monitors prices across multiple blockchains (Ethereum and Base)
- Detects cross-chain price advantages automatically
- Evaluates user-defined price triggers against real-time data
- Triggers conversions when advantageous conditions are met
- Implements sophisticated cross-chain advantage algorithms
-
PriceTriggerCallback Contract
- Executes conversion operations when triggered by the Reactive Network
- Interfaces with PacificRamp Service Manager to process transactions
- Ensures secure, one-time execution of triggers
- Emits events for tracking transaction status
-
Frontend Dashboard
- Displays real-time prices across multiple chains
- Provides simple interface for creating price-based triggers
- Visualizes cross-chain price advantages
- Shows conversion history and savings achieved
-
AVS (Actively Validated Services)
- Enhances security in verifying real-world assets
- Leverages Ethereum's validator set for transaction validation
- Provides secure attestations for pacificUSD issuance and redemption
-
zkTLS
- Enables verifiable HTTP requests on AVS
- Ensures data integrity and privacy when interacting with bank APIs
- Preserves confidentiality through zero-knowledge proofs
- Confirms real-world asset deposits while maintaining security
Product Integrations
PacificRamp integrates several key technologies:
- EigenLayer's Active Validation Service (AVS):
Enhances security in verifying real-world assets
Leverages Ethereum's validator set to validate bank deposits off-chain
Provides secure attestations for pacificUSD issuance and redemption
- Reactive-lib Framework:
Powers the event-driven architecture
Enables subscription to relevant blockchain events
Facilitates cross-chain monitoring and reactions
- USDT Stablecoin:
Currently used as the backing for pacificUSD
Integrated for seamless conversion between fiat and crypto
- Cross-Chain Communication Protocols:
Enables monitoring of price data across multiple blockchains
Facilitates the execution of conversions on different chains
- Banking APIs (for production):
Will enable direct fiat deposits and withdrawals
Integration with zkTLS for secure verification of bank interactions
Key differentiators and uniqueness of the project
PacificRamp's unique value proposition centers around its innovative Reactive Network for cross-chain optimization:
- Automatic Cross-Chain Price Optimization:
Unlike traditional on/off-ramps that operate on a single chain with fixed pricing
Continuously monitors multiple blockchains to find the best conversion rates
Automatically routes transactions to the optimal chain, saving users money
- Price-Triggered Automation:
Most platforms only offer immediate conversions at current rates
PacificRamp allows users to set target prices for automatic execution
Combines simple price thresholds with cross-chain advantage detection
- Decentralized Multi-Chain Approach:
Traditional services are centralized and typically single-chain focused
Our solution operates across multiple blockchains simultaneously
Decentralized validation through AVS enhances security and transparency
- Democratized Access to Advanced Strategies:
Cross-chain arbitrage typically requires technical expertise
PacificRamp makes these strategies accessible to everyday users
Simplifies complex cross-chain operations into user-friendly triggers
- Transparency in Price Discovery:
Existing solutions often have hidden spreads and fees
Our system provides complete visibility into prices across all chains
Users can see exactly how conversion rates are determined
Compared to existing solutions like Coinbase, Ramp, or MoonPay, PacificRamp is the first to implement automatic cross-chain optimization for fiat-crypto conversions, ensuring users always get the best available rates without manual comparison shopping.
Trade-offs and shortcuts while building
During development, we made several strategic decisions:
- Chain Selection:
Currently limited to Ethereum Sepolia and Base Sepolia testnets
Future expansion will include additional EVM chains and Layer 2 solutions
Trade-off made to ensure thorough testing on a manageable number of networks
- Price Oracle Simplification:
Current implementation uses direct price updates rather than decentralized oracles
Owner can manually update prices for testing purposes
Future versions will integrate Chainlink and other oracle solutions for production
- Gas Optimization Considerations:
Cross-chain advantage calculations don't yet account for gas costs
In some cases, slightly better prices might be offset by higher gas fees
Next iteration will incorporate gas costs into the optimization algorithm
- User Authentication:
Current prototype focuses on functional cross-chain optimization
Full KYC/AML integration and compliance features planned for production
This allowed us to focus on core differentiating technology first
Additional Features
During the hackathon, we significantly enhanced PacificRamp with the following new features:

Cross-Chain Reactive Network Implementation
- Developed the core price monitoring system that tracks prices across multiple blockchains
- Created the event-driven architecture to respond instantly to price changes
- Implemented cross-chain advantage detection algorithms that identify optimal conversion opportunities
-
Price-Triggered Automation System
- Built smart contracts for creating and managing customizable price triggers
- Developed logic to evaluate trigger conditions across different blockchains
- Created the callback mechanism that executes conversions on the optimal chain
