The problem Open Source Summer solves

Bringing more developers onchain and providing a new way for projects and devs to get rewarded for their work.
Hacktoberfest has been running for the past 10 years with great success (clearly?)
Open Source Summer is on a mission to create an environment for developers to be excited about contributing to open source software while unlocking additional capabilities of getting rewarded for the work:

• Successful submissions result in an NFT that can be used with partners in the future. Example: Base swag store OSS t-shirt is unlocked for free if a user has the NFT
• List of contributors where each one can be "tipped" - first in ETH, in the future either create a token to build a community or leverage existing partners.
• List of projects that users can add and those can be "sponsored" - think github sponsorship / tipping but onchain.
• Contributions can be shared to Farcaster to further grow the visibility
• Future: confirm each contribution onchain, think receipts.xyz but for developers
• Utilize social graphs + contributions to surface interesting devs / projects to each other.

In comparison to something like https://build.top, this is geared more towards highlighting and rewarding developers based on their contributions rather than social "clout" (ie: top builder on build.top is Jesse, however he's only contributed 72 times at the time of this writing https://github.com/jessepollak - love Jesse, however the developers that are grinding PRs and contributing are the unsung heros I'd love to highlight and showcase with the help of OSSummer
