The problem OpenSocial Protocol / SoMon solves

• Social has the potential to become the largest consumer user case for Web3 mass adoption due to its low barrier to entry.
• One major issue with Web2 social is the lack of data ownership by users and creators. Everything is monopolized by centralized platforms, obstructing and sometimes influencing the social connection between users/creators and their community. If a creator wants to move from one platform to another, he's going to lose a major part of his community in the process.
• Another issue is the current value distribution and incentive system present on Web2, where monetized value created from social media traffic is entirely or mostly captured by centralized platforms, and where community builders and creators get no financial gain, or one coming from an opaque system they have no say on.

Challenges I ran into

No major challenge in the building process.
However, a more proactive support from the Base community would be greatly appreciated. We are willing to build on Farcaster using OpenSocial technology and modules.
