OPEN LIFE

decentralised network that leverages blockchain technology and smart contracts to link organ donors and receivers and increase transparency, efficiency, and security of the organ donation process.

The problem OPEN LIFE solves

The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that one in every five kidneys transplanted per year comes from the black market.
Illegal organ trade: India has a significant problem with illegal organ trade, with organs being bought and sold on the black market. This can lead to exploitation and mistreatment of vulnerable individuals, as well as ethical and legal issues.
Lack of transparency: The organ donation and transplantation process in India is often opaque and lacks transparency, which can lead to corruption and favoritism in the allocation of organs.
Ethical issues: There are often ethical issues surrounding organ donation and transplantation in India, including questions about the consent of donors and the allocation of organs to wealthy or influential individuals.

Challenges we ran into

Compliance: Compliance with regulations and laws related to organ donation and healthcare can be difficult to navigate.
Difficulty in installations of ganache and deployment of smart contracts
