Stress, burnout, addiction, and isolation are rampant, yet traditional mental health systems are misaligned with the decentralized world. Centralized models rely on ID verification, rigid scheduling, and geographically constrained services, creating barriers for pseudonymous, global, and mobile onchain users. Stigma and privacy concerns further deter many from seeking help, leaving a critical gap in support for the onchain economy.
Onchain Wellness bridges this gap with a scalable, crypto-native solution. Our app provides instant, wallet-based access to mental health resources, peer support, and tools tailored for the crypto user's unique pressures—without requiring personal identification or fixed appointments. By leveraging Base’s low-cost, high-speed blockchain, we ensure accessibility and privacy, empowering users to prioritize wellness while thriving in decentralized ecosystems.

Challenges we ran into
On May 30, 2024, we began building on Base, uniting the community to revive the Bitcoin on Base (BTCB) project. When the original contract deployer abandoned the project within its first week, we saw an opportunity to create something extraordinary. A dedicated team of professionals stepped up, establishing clear leadership roles that attracted top talent to our ecosystem. This collaborative spirit fueled rapid growth and inspired a powerful narrative that resonated across the Base community.
The journey wasn’t easy. Early tooling was unreliable—until ETH Denver, where Chintan at the Base booth pointed us to OnchainKit. The switch gave us a 20x performance boost and let us finally build the product we envisioned.
Witnessing this transformation, we recognized a critical need in the onchain economy: robust support for those impacted by rug pulls and abandoned projects. Our mission evolved to not only rebuild trust but also to empower the community with resilient, inclusive solutions. Onchain Wellness emerged as a beacon of care, leveraging Base’s scalable infrastructure to deliver mental health and peer support tools tailored for the decentralized world. Our journey reflects the strength of community-driven innovation and our commitment to fostering a healthier, more sustainable onchain future.
Throughout the Base Batches Buildathon, we’ve significantly enhanced Onchain Wellness with cutting-edge features to elevate user experience and accessibility. We introduced the Spend Permissions feature, enabling seamless, secure recurring subscriptions that empower users to engage with mental health resources effortlessly. Additionally, our integration with Basenames simplifies interactions by replacing complex wallet addresses with user-friendly, human-readable names. These advancements, built on Base’s scalable and low-cost infrastructure, streamline access to our decentralized mental health tools, making wellness more inclusive and intuitive for the onchain community. Our focus on usability and innovation underscores our commitment to supporting the next billion users in the onchain economy.
