Most onchain projects feel abstract and technical, making it hard for new users to emotionally connect with them. Onchain Summer Postcards solves this by offering a simple, fun way to create and collect memories directly on Base. Instead of complicated DeFi or trading apps, users can just connect a wallet, write a message, and mint it as a permanent NFT postcard. It lowers the barrier to entry for beginners while showing the cultural side of building onchain.

• Hardhat v3 migration: Ran into dependency errors with v2, solved by restarting with v3 setup.
• Ethers v6 integration: Old tutorials broke; fixed by updating imports and types for wagmi v2 + ethers v6.
• Frontend wallet connection: RainbowKit errors due to mixing old docs; resolved with wagmi v2 injected MetaMask connector.
• Env handling: Scripts didn’t pick up .env solved by adding dotenv/configand using .env.example.
• Deployment & hosting: Blank page on Vercel; fixed by setting root to postcard-frontend and adding env vars.
