The Creators & Shaolin Financial Charity Army are feeding children in the Dominican Republic through onchain art & culture, bringing them new clothing to wear to be proud of, and giving out bookbags full of pencils, erasers, notepads, and school supplies to support their education, so that one day these children have a chance to become builders in their own community.
Shaolin Financial Charity Army is a nonprofit created by founding members of The Creators & Wu-Tang Clan with the goal of ending the commoditization of our art & culture, bringing it onchain, & channeling its power so that the next generation, our children, can grow up in a world where they are free to be artists, musicians, writers, builders and creators.
In Phase 1 we created The Shaolin Art Center, an underground art and event venue in the metaverse, to demonstrate that power. As part of its foundational collection we raised almost $10,000 For The Children, together with Methodman, Ray Acosta and Mook of Wu-Tang Clan.
Our dynamic NFT gives a clear, easy, visible way to show support with your brand or name. From now until July 27, the names and logos of those who do it For The Children will appear, and fill the blue part of the canvas.
We will also be holding sponsored fundraiser events to auction limited-edition, signed & numbered prints from Dario7, world-reknowned artist, giving exclusive access to choice edition numbers like 36/36 and 50/50.
Our project has suceeded in bringing over 40 fresh new artists onchain, and has united over 30 communities over a shared vision of real-world impact. For the whole month of July, we're asking you to add your voice to ours. Join the list of sponsors and signatures who have done it For The Children, and find yourself listed among the leaders of this space in the official mint and documentary we are creating when we travel to DR in July.
First, charity is not hype by design. We found our own ways of using branding and design and technology to turn compassion into a meme. The project is going strong with the support of everyone joining each day.
Second, the immense amount of work needed to pull this off: between the organizers and volunteers, planning the event, coordinating over 40 artists, creating the metaverse art center, hanging the art, running live events to showcase the art, talking with sponsors on livestream, auctioning physical works, coordinating the auction settlement, getting sponsors on board, coordinating all the sponsor logos and names, creating the website wireframe in figma, deploying the website on vercel, acquiring the domain names, creating an endless amount of marketing materials, designing collab mints, setting up point rewards on Guild, coordinating on social media, selling onchain merch thru slice, designing those shirts for the merch shop, coordinating with local vendors in the Dominican Republic, coordinating with our folks on the ground and security team in DR, buying the supplies and food for the children, booking the hotels, coordinating the documentary crew and equipment, flying to DR, meeting with the Armed Forces of the Dominican Republic, clearing our stay there, brief stop at the hotel, taking a bus out to one of the central villages, coordinating the kids and families to be bussed in from surrounding villages, unloading boxes of supplies, moving them into the open interior space we are given usage of, setting up tables and workstations for the volunteers and organizers, assembling bookbags with pencils and notebooks and school supplies, stacking up clothing and bookbags, coordinating the entertainment and food deliveries.
The reason for all this work is more clear on the ground, when you see the smiling faces of these kids. You'll have visibility through our documentary of our work giving out the food/supplies, laughing, singing, playing, & fixing up the church.
