The problem Onchain Caller ID solves
“SPAM”, “Unknown Number”, and “Phishing Texts”. Last year, Americans received over 2 billion scam calls per month . The average American is now receiving over 40 Spam Calls and Scam Texts a week, and this is only expected to increase.
How can we trust who we are interacting with on the other side of our mobile devices? You can’t even trust phone calls from the IRS or other genuine government agencies nowadays. “Caller ID is just no longer reliable. Too many people will spoof those numbers.”
Whether from work or friends and family, our mobile devices are inundated with texts, emails, phone calls on a daily basis. Fraudsters are using more and more sophisticated techniques to dupe victims into falling for their scams, many of which are indistinguishable from legitimate messages. Moreover, AI and bots are using social engineering and deepfakes to impersonate formerly trustworthy sources.
Challenges I ran into
One problem that we are encountering is the integration of an onchain app at the hardware level and SIM Card.
Having other users (cell phones) verify and confirm the identity of another user (cell phone). Essentially each cell phone is a node that validates the authenticity of each communication and user.
I need to find a technical/development partner.
