The problem ONBD.xyz Base integration solves

In the Web3 creator ecosystem, the traditional support roles taken up by galleries, agents and PR firms have been 'bypassed' by creators who wanted more control and direct access to their audience. However, without any sort of support system, most creators have found that they cannot handle taking on all these roles by themself.
ie - creators are expected to be their own marketing person, sales, storyteller, accountant, logistics provider… even though the creators like to have control, it’s too much work for them to handle alone. The result is that creators cannot develop their full potential. Instead, their time is spent inefficiently and they underperform.

ONBD’s badge system can bring her entire audience into one place, trackable on-chain.
Badges can be used as raffle tickets, concert tickets, and to whitelist holders for art drops.
Badges will also allow fans to gain special access to chatrooms and VIP content.
The fact that creators can see her holders’ wallets gives them ways to incentivize and reward them with airdrops and other perks.

Challenges I ran into

In building this project, the main challenge was how to incorporate payments into the platform. We originally built the badge system on Arbitrum Nova, for the speed and low cost of arb's layer 3 chain. Although it worked smoothly, we had trouble finding an elegant way to allow users to pay for these badges - Arbitrum Nova requires users to purchase crypto on the Arbitrum One networkm and then to bridge it over to Nova. These steps are onerous even for experienced Web3 users. It's for this reason that we decided to incorporate Base as an option for minting our badges, as well as including Coinbase wallets as an option to connect to our dapp.
