Bridging Communication Gaps: Real-Time Interpretation for All

The problem On The Fly of Indian Sign Language Interpretation solves

The implementation of this solution aims to bridge educational and communication gaps for deaf and mute students by creating a website that teaches sign language and converts it to English text in real-time using machine learning. We will expand this to 22 other local languages while monitoring and reporting student outcomes through data analytics and web development.

Challenges we ran into

Ensuring ISL Accuracy:
RISK: Developing precise ISL translation may require significant refinement.
STRATEGY: Collaborate with ISL experts and use iterative testing to improve translation precision.

Content Development:
RISK: Creating quality educational content in ISL needs specialized expertise.
STRATEGY: Partner with educators and linguists to create high-quality, curriculum-aligned content in ISL.

Lack of a Proper Dataset:
RISK: The unavailability of proper datasets in ISL and local languages. Alongside, the datasets available on the web have discrepancies, and result in inaccuracies.
STRATEGY: Building our own dataset ensures more accuracy and quality result.

User Training:
RISK: Teachers, parents, and students may need support to fully utilize the web’s features.
STRATEGY: Provide user-friendly tutorials, workshops, and support materials for teachers, parents, and students
