Yield-Donating Strategies Architecture & Flow
The problem Octant V2: YDS solves
The video solves the core challenge of explaining Yield-Donating Strategies and the Octant V2 vault flow. YDS and 4626 performance accounting can be difficult to grasp, especially how strategies report value, how the vault extracts only net yield, and how that yield becomes funding for public goods. The animation breaks this down step-by-step, showing deposits entering the vault, strategies deploying assets and reporting valuation, the vault minting donation shares from net gains, and the yield flowing forward to recipients. By turning a complex architecture into a clear visual pipeline, the video helps builders quickly understand how YDS plug into Octant V2 and why this model enables sustainable public-goods funding.
Challenges I ran into
As a non-technical creator, the biggest challenge was understanding the architecture behind Yield-Donating Strategies and the Octant V2 vault flow. Concepts like valuation reporting, net-yield extraction, and donation-share minting were initially difficult to interpret without a coding background. I had to break down the system piece by piece before I could translate it into something visual.
Once I understood the flow, the next hurdle was turning it into a clear, concise animation. Every visual element had to be designed from scratch, refined to match the logic of the protocol, and then individually animated so the viewer could follow the pipeline step-by-step without getting overwhelmed.
Producing the AI voiceover added another layer of difficulty. I experimented with different tones and pacing in ElevenLabs to make the explanation coherent and synced with the visuals. Balancing technical accuracy with accessibility took multiple iterations.
Overall, the challenge was combining technical comprehension, visual storytelling, and audio clarity into one streamlined explainer.
