AI that turns DeFi yield into impact.
The problem OctAI solves
This project tackles several major inefficiencies in DeFi yield and public-goods funding:
Problem
1)Static yield strategies
Most DeFi vaults allocate liquidity manually or through static rules. They can’t adapt in real time to changing yield conditions, risk spikes, or protocol health.
2)Fragmented DeFi data
Yield, volatility, and risk metrics are scattered across multiple protocols (Aave, Morpho, Spark, Uniswap), making it complex for users or DAOs to make optimal allocation decisions.
3)Under-optimized public-goods funding
Platforms like Octant donate yield from locked assets to public goods, but the yield generation itself remains a fixed process — missing out on higher returns from dynamic allocation.
Solution:
- AI-Driven Yield Allocation system introduces automated, data-informed allocation between top DeFi protocols:
2)The AI layer predicts yield and risk for each protocol using real-time data.
3)The StrategyManager smart contract reallocates funds accordingly, managing ERC-4626 vaults safely via on-chain signals.
Challenges I ran into
Synchronizing off-chain AI with on-chain logic:
Securely passing allocation recommendations from your AI microservice to the StrategyManager contract, while mitigating data lags and trust assumptions.
ERC-4626 compliance:
Ensuring your vault implementation correctly handles deposits, withdrawals, shares, and donation logic without breaking compatibility or introducing vulnerabilities.
Strategy rebalancing risks:
Preventing value loss or unexpected slippage during reallocation, especially when switching between protocols with differing liquidity and yield behavior.
