The problem Normie Wallet solves
Normie Wallet solves the complexity of using crypto by letting anyone send or receive USD across chains without gas, seed phrases, or technical knowledge.
It feels like using Venmo or Revolut — users log in with social accounts, get a smart wallet instantly, and can receive FIAT-like amount from any chain, auto-bridged and swapped in the background.
This makes simpler, and accessible to everyday people who’ve never touched Web3.
Challenges we ran into
One major challenge was enabling gasless transactions for users with no ETH. We tried this by using Alchemy Smart Accounts with EIP-7702 to sponsor and batch transactions, even during wallet creation, but there is lack of support for React Native, so we switched to Privy.
Another hurdle was making cross-chain transfers seamless without exposing chain complexity — we integrated Chainlink CCIP to abstract bridging and auto-deliver tokens to the desired chain. The main issue with chain link that cross-chain transfer take to long time on test net.
In general using paymaster together with EIP-7702 and integration like Chain Link on testnet is hard.
