Bachat Ka Bhog: Save food, nourish families.
The problem NoOne Hungry solves
We devised an innovative solution to the persistent issue of food wastage by establishing a platform that bridges the gap between those with excess meals and those in need. This system aims to combat the age-old problem of food waste in a practical and sustainable manner, thereby making a significant contribution to alleviating hunger.
Challenges we ran into
1. Integrating GPS:
Challenge Breakdown:
Privacy Concerns: Users might be hesitant to share their location data due to privacy worries. It's crucial to be transparent about how their location is used and ensure robust security measures are in place.
Permission Handling: Different browsers and devices have varying permission models for accessing user location. You'll need to implement mechanisms to request and handle permissions appropriately.
Accuracy and Reliability: GPS accuracy can vary depending on factors like device capabilities and environmental conditions. Consider potential limitations and handle inaccurate data gracefully.
2. Integrating ONDC:
Challenge Breakdown:
Evolving Platform: ONDC is a relatively new initiative, and its APIs and functionalities might undergo changes as the platform matures. Your integration needs to be adaptable to accommodate future updates.
Limited Documentation and Support: As a new platform, ONDC might have limited documentation and support resources compared to established solutions. You might need to invest more effort in understanding and implementing the integration.
Interoperability Challenges: ONDC aims to connect various sellers and buyers, but ensuring seamless interoperability across different systems and platforms can be complex.
3. Finding Proper Data for ML Model:
Challenge Breakdown:
Data Quality: The quality and relevance of your training data significantly impact the performance of your ML model. Low-quality data can lead to inaccurate predictions and hinder the effectiveness of your app.
Data Availability: Finding relevant data specifically for food waste management or user behavior related to food sharing might be challenging, especially if you're targeting a specific region like India.
Data Privacy: When acquiring data from external sources, ensure it complies with relevant privacy regulations and ethical considerations.
