Solving the problem of waste management by just few steps in NIT, Silchar.
The problem NITS wastemanager apps solves
We have made two apps to solve the problem of waste management. first app is is the consumer end. This app will ask for the details like type of waste, location of the waste and picture of the waste. Now this app will upload this information to the data base and feed the data to the second app. In each request made there will also be a status option which will get updated from the second app so that the user can track the status of the request made. The seconnd app will be handled by the management side of the college authorities. This app will list down all the information about the waste and sort the wastes in datewise manner. The app will contain a share option in each reuqset made and the information about the waste will be sent to suitable waste management agency. There will also be a status tracker in the form of three check boxes namely acknoledged, shared and disposed. Once the disposed checkbox is checked the status will also be sent to the consumer end and shown in the status of the request so that the user get to know about the stauts of the waste.
Challenges we ran into
The sharing option which we made in the managment side was not implemented. We were facing difficulties in sending the information in the whatsapp of the details about the rquests which we obtained from the first app made for the consumers. We read official documentations and solved the problem in the nick of time. It was fun and the learning opportunity which we obtained by participating in this hackathon is immense.
