The problem Nirbhaya solves

Women in most countries feel unsafe to travel alone due to deteriorating safety standards. We have built an application that will help the women in danger get quicker help. Our Application "Nirbhaya" introduces the concept of a Social Hero. A Social Hero is anyone who wills to volunteer into this cause and help us build a safer place for women to walk freely around. Anyone after a Proper Authentication and Police Verification will be able to become a Social Hero.

Our Application Provides an SOS button which not only sends an SOS alert to your concerned Contacts but also sends all the nearby Social Hero the alert message which is how we deliver and ensure to provide a better and quicker response timing.

Onetime Authentication Helps users stay logged in and hassle-free service. We also plan to implement sending the SOS alert to the Nearby Emergency Station i.e. Police and the Hospital to make sure the user gets help as quick as Possible.

Challenges we ran into

We are a Team of First-Year Students, We had to go through a lot of documentation and videos to implement all the features.
We were looking forward to implementing loads of more features but most of them are paid. We look to Win this Hackathon and use the Winning Amount to Purchase the Various Paid APIs to make this Project Ready to Use and Open-Sourced so make this project go live as soon as possible.

Also, We faced difficulty in implementing the backend process using firebase as we had to dig into the documentation to find the small hacks to make our app interactive and get the minimum features so we are ready to present it to the mentors.

We had to go through lots of Trials and Errors to find the temporary free services that we had used in our application.
