The problem Nexus solves

Nexus addresses several key problems in the concert ticketing industry:

1. Ticket Scalping and Fraud: Ticket scalping, where tickets are resold at inflated prices, and fraudulent ticket listings are common issues in the industry. These practices exploit fans and undermine the integrity of the ticketing process. Nexus tackles this problem by utilizing the flow blockchain technology to ensure transparency, traceability, and authenticity of tickets, making it difficult for scalpers to operate and reducing the risk of fraudulent activities. And also removing middle man.

2. Nexus is creating the tickets created by certified creators as NFTs and using the On-Chain Metadata and DynamicMetadata of Flow Blockchain to update the ticket status if the user has already used the ticket to avoid fraudulent exchange between peer to peer transaction.

3. Lack of Transparency: The lack of transparency in ticket pricing, seat selection, and allocation processes can lead to frustrations among fans. Nexus introduces transparency by implementing a smart contract-powered system that enables fair ticket pricing, predefined reselling limits, and clear seat selection options, providing users with a transparent and trustworthy ticketing experience.

4. Walletless Onboarding: Nexus is providing a seamless and accessible experience for mainstream audiences. I have implemented the Walletless Onboarding approach, and through Hybrid Custody accounts, give users the freedom to control assets (To be Added Hybrid Custody functionality).

Challenges I ran into

This is the first time I've built on top of Flow Blockchain and I've only ever built for EVM chains so I am very familiar with blockchain. So, I'm just getting started to familiarize myself into creating smart contracts on Flow. So, here are the problems that I have encountered:

1. At first the SDKs for react native is not ready yet and I have built the initial stages of my app using the Bare React Native framework but discovered a bit later that the react native SDK only works on Expo so I had to create a new app using Expo.

2. Implementation of the Walletless onboarding, the docs for React Native is not that straight forward so the design for my login is not that good.

3. Writing smart contracts on Flow using Cadence - Had a bit of a hard time but I finally understood. I somehow was able to deploy a smart contract (https://testnet.flowview.app/account/0x57ed4b51ee8750f4/contract) and call functions from the smart contract. But, my lack of knowledge stopped me from finishing that part of my app.
