Challenges we ran into

The Problems We Ran Into:

During the development of nextPay, we encountered several significant challenges that required creative problem-solving:

• SoundBox Integration: Integrating multiple regional languages into the SoundBox feature was more complex than expected. The challenge lay in ensuring accurate real-time translations and text-to-speech functionalities across diverse languages. To address this, we are implementing Google Cloud Console's translation and text-to-speech APIs. However, integrating these APIs into our Next.js project presented an additional challenge, as the library was originally designed for React. We overcame this by creating a custom wrapper, enabling seamless integration with Next.js. This enhancement will be part of the next version of nextPay.

• Next.js Integration Issues: Beyond the SoundBox feature, we faced broader integration issues with Next.js, given that some libraries and tools were primarily designed for React. This required us to adapt our approach, creating custom solutions like wrappers to ensure compatibility and maintain the performance and functionality of the app.

• Gas Fees Optimization: High gas fees are a well-known issue in blockchain technology, affecting transaction costs. Initially, we optimized the blockchains used within nextPay to reduce fees. Recognizing the need for further improvement, we are now implementing advanced Layer 2 solutions such as optimized rollups and zk-rollups. These technologies allow for transaction bundling, significantly reducing gas fees while preserving transaction speed and security.
