Newtro is a collective of onchain artists and independent cultural builders focused on empowering creators and expanding the Web3 art scene, particularly in Latin America. Over the past two years, we’ve successfully onboarded more than 200 artists through our “Arts and W3B” workshop, providing essential tools and knowledge for decentralized ecosystems. Our mission is to build a self-sovereign creative community through education, collaboration, and success pathways in Web3. We maintain sustainability through onchain sales and partnerships with key players like Zora, Surreal, and the Tezos Foundation.

We’re participating in Based LatAm because we believe in Web3's transformative power for the Latin American art community. Our onboarding workshops have been one of the most successful, providing customized education for artists. In addition, we've produced more than five IRL exhibitions, multiple onchain drops, two artist residencies, and artist-driven gatherings, showing our expertise and capacity. With Newtro LearnHub, we aim to bring our collective knowledge to new audiences through an artist-focused educational platform. We offer not only information but also collaboration, creative expression, and empowerment, helping artists thrive in the decentralized digital world.

Our hackathon approach is based on internal research—nine 1-on-1 interviews, a focus group, and a survey of 63 collective members. We identified a clear need for more educational resources and spaces where artists feel represented. Marketplaces often create trends but rarely prioritize artists’ specific needs.

In the last three years, Newtro artists have contributed significantly to Ethereum, Zora, Tezos, Solana, and Avalanche, creating collaborative projects and building artist-driven communities. We're eager to apply this knowledge to Base, expanding our contribution to its cultural ecosystem through education, onboarding, and multichain strategies.

Our focus is on tackling two significant challenges:

1. The lack of accessible, structured educational resources tailored to spanish speaking artists in the Web3 space. Many creatives find it difficult to engage with blockchain technologies due to their complexity.
2. The need for specific tools thought for artists (ie no marketplace offers tools so important to artists like a way of knowing who their biggest collectors are). We fix this with our AI chatbot.

Our goal is to foster the development of local artist communities in Latin America, empowering them through accessible education and tools for navigating the decentralized and multichain ecosystem.

With support from Base, we could continue developing this platform, enhancing our tools, and amplifying the impact of our collective within the Base ecosystem.

Newtro LearnHub provides educational content that is specifically designed for artists, simplifying complex Web3 and blockchain concepts into easily digestible lessons. Our recently added OpenAI chatbot helps users by answering questions, recommending content, offering onchain data and creating a personalized learning experience. Furthermore, our bounties section incentivizes action by rewarding artists as they complete key milestones, such as setting up wallets or minting NFTs. Through this combination of education, interactive tools, and incentivized learning, Newtro LearnHub bridges the gap between artists and the Web3 space, fostering deeper engagement and collaboration.

Supporting Newtro will enable Base to leverage our record of driving creative innovation and empowering artists. Our experience will boost Base's cultural ecosystem, ensuring long-term engagement and sustainable growth for Latin American artists and beyond.

1. Building an artist-focused educational platform:

   • Challenge: Making blockchain concepts feel seamless, friendly and accessible to non-technical artists.
   • Solution: We simplified the user interface and flow, making the tech layer invisible while ensuring tools and resources are intuitive and easy to use. Our content library and tutorials, based on the experience of artists with over three years in Web3, provide continuously updated, practical insights to help artists stay current.

2. Fluid, personalized learning:

   • Challenge: Personalizing the learning experience for diverse user needs.
   • Solution: We integrated an OpenAI chatbot to provide real-time answers, content recommendations and onchain data, building a swiss knife tool for artists to keep a dynamic learning and offer tools for their practice.

3. User engagement via bounties:

   • Challenge: Keeping users engaged as they learn Web3 skills.
   • Solution: Our bounties section rewards users for completing tasks, making the process fun and interactive.
