Two interesting facts about offline supermarkets that we noticed are

  • The items that are similar and have a higher chance of being bought together are stacked on the shelves which are close to
    one another.
  • There is staff available at all times to help you find what you're looking for and notify you about new offers.

Negozio AI aims to enhance the online e-commerce space by offering a better experience that is closer to the offline supermarkets we all love to fill our shopping carts at.

Challenges we ran into

Rating Based Recommendation:

The recommendation of each product from similar users is based on the ratings received by the users on the platform. The products with no ratings may not be considered for recommendation.

To overcome this, we will make giving rating/feedback as a mandatory feature for the users by offering them a quicker way to rate the products.

New User Recommendation:

The newly added user gets recommendations on the basis of most rated/bought products. A personalised recommendation can be made only after a few purchases.

To overcome this, the machine learning models are made robust enough to produce a recommendation right after first few purchases. And the recommendations would enhance with each purchase record.
