Nav-Eth: Decentralizing Global Transactions.
Nav-Eth redefines cross-border crypto transactions with decentralized control, ensuring secure, low-fee, and fast trading on a global scale—empowering users with true financial freedom
The problem Nav-Eth: Decentralizing Global Transactions. solves
In the existing cryptocurrency ecosystem, centralized exchanges control user transactions and charge high fees, which can lead to security risks and loss of privacy. Users do not have full control over their assets, as these platforms act as intermediaries. Additionally, beginners in the crypto space often struggle with complex interfaces, lack of educational resources, and steep learning curves.
Nav-Eth aims to solve these problems by:
Decentralized Peer-to-Peer Exchange: Eliminates intermediaries, allowing users to buy and sell cryptocurrencies securely without relying on third-party platforms.
Full Asset Control: Users manage their assets directly through non-custodial wallets, ensuring privacy and security.
Reduced Transaction Costs: Smart contracts on the Ethereum blockchain enable low-fee transactions, eliminating reliance on expensive third parties.
Education for New Users: Built-in tutorials simplify blockchain and crypto trading concepts, ensuring users of all skill levels can participate confidently.
This platform empowers users globally by offering low fees, transparent transactions, and seamless wallet management while safeguarding their privacy and security. Nav-Eth aims to make crypto trading more accessible by bridging the knowledge gap through structured educational tools.
Challenges I ran into
While developing Nav-Eth, several challenges arose:
Smart Contract Deployment Errors: During deployment on the Ethereum testnet, conflicts in dependencies caused unexpected failures. These issues were resolved by downgrading the environment to a compatible version and running preliminary tests on a local Ganache blockchain before proceeding with live deployment.
IPFS Storage Latency: Storing wallet-related data on IPFS initially caused delays in data retrieval, affecting user experience. After researching configuration options, we optimized the node connections to minimize latency and ensure faster data access.
Login Synchronization Issues: Integrating Metamask for decentralized authentication occasionally caused login timeouts. The issue was mitigated by adding a retry mechanism and improving backend synchronization with Metamask.
Gas Fee Fluctuations: The unpredictability of gas fees on the Ethereum network posed difficulties for users. To address this, we introduced an alert feature to notify users of optimal transaction times, helping them avoid high fees.
These challenges not only tested the project’s resilience but also deepened our understanding of decentralized systems and the nuances of blockchain-based platforms.
